Material science for labels
Materials science woven labels
Materials and colors are available for the production of woven labels, which harmonize perfectly with all other components of the clothing.
For woven labels in the following qualities:
- taffeta
- Kettsatin
- shot Satin
- High definition
... the following basic qualities are available, which differ in terms of density and the material used:
Standard material: polyester yarn
on request, processing of metal threads and mixed fabrics (up to 30% cotton)
Of course, other special materials are also available on request.
woven and embroidered patches - patches
The following back coatings are possible for woven and embroidered patches:
- without a coating - Here it can happen that the woven patches can warp when sewn on.
- Non-Woven Coating - To maintain label strength. Here the label is sewn onto the textile.
- Iron-on coating - The label gains strength and can be applied to the textile with a professional transfer press.
- Adhesive coating - For fixing on textiles. Options such as smooth and solid surfaces can also be implemented.
- Back Velcro - The woven or embroidered patches are additionally provided with Velcro. The patches can also be provided with the desired shape.
We would also be happy to advise you on this over the phone.
Material science print labels
Printing labels can be made from different materials. The following materials are available for printing labels:
Nylon:
Chemical fibers made of polyamides, especially for the first fully synthetic fiber, are called nylon, and a polyamide fiber (PA66) made from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid is called nylon.
The nylon fiber is characterized by high tensile strength and insensitivity to moisture and temperature fluctuations.
The properties and advantages of nylon are characterized as follows:
Elasticity and durability are just two of the many advantages of nylon. Properties that this material also has are the stability and elasticity of the fibers.
In addition, nylon can absorb energy better than other textiles. Even with suddenly occurring heavy loads, nylon proves to be very tear-resistant.
Despite everything, nylon is very sensitive to moisture or even moisture. Nylon is easy to machine, for example sawing, drilling, milling and turning.
But nylon is not suitable for gluing. Most often, nylon is bonded together using a chemical compound.
Polyester:
Polyesters are polymers with ester functions in their main chain. Although polyester occurs naturally, today polyester is understood to mean a large family of synthetic polymers (plastics), which include the widely used polycarbonates and, above all, the technically important, thermoplastic polyethylene terephthalate.
The properties of polyester are versatile. Polyester is easy to care for, dries quickly and wicks away moisture.
Polyester can also store the heat very well and is soft and kind to the skin. The fibers are fine and thin and therefore very light, but at the same time extremely hard-wearing. Polyester also has a high dimensional stability and is not prone to wrinkling. In addition, the plastic has high strength and flexibility, making it resistant and tear-resistant.
Cotton:
The cotton plants (Gossypium) or cotton (English, French coton) is a plant genus within the family of the mallow family (Malvaceae). There are approximately (20 to 51 species) in the tropics and subtropics. The properties and advantages of cotton are:
- very absorbent
- more tear-resistant when wet than dry
- skin-friendly and without scratching
- low allergy potential
- very heat resistant
- durable and easy to care for
- hard-wearing and stretchy
- Cotton is bleached in white and in natural colors
Satin:
Satin only describes the type of binding, but not the material itself. Depending on the type of fiber, the fabric can have a lighter or stronger sheen, and can be fluidly thin or stiff.
The textile can be made of silk, cotton, viscose or polyester. The special satin properties and advantages are:
- nice shiny
- looks classy
- easy care
Hard-wearing digital print labels: We only use satin for our digital print labels, since the quality of the digital print can only be reliably recognized on satin. Since this print is on satin, the minimum purchase quantity is higher than with a normal print.
Cardboard labels or hang tags
Depending on your needs and asking price, we offer different cardboard thicknesses from 100 g/sqm to 350 g/sqm.
(The standard here is 250 g/sqm.) Our minimum order quantity for the carton label/hang tags is 100 pieces.
- Cardboard labels/hangtags are available in different qualities (paper, cardboard, plastic, textile, leather and many more.)
- Cardboard labels / hang tags are available in different formats and sizes depending on the customer's requirements
- Depending on your requirements, you can print your carton labels/hangtags on the front and/or back (single-sided printing/double-sided printing)
- You can also choose a thread, cord or satin ribbon as a hanger for your cardboard labels/hang tags
- You can also provide the suspension strap with a seal, whether with or without a logo
- Cardboard labels/hangtags can be finished in various ways, e.g. B. embossing, folding, gemstones, colored eyelets, colored safety pins and much more.
In the finishing stages you can determine whether you want to use the following for your carton labels/hangtags.
UV coating:
Is a high-gloss, abrasion-resistant clear varnish that is partially or completely applied to the desired surface using the screen printing process. The varnish is then cured with UV light and dried.
The partially applied UV varnish is slightly raised, sharp-edged and shiny. Company logos, addresses, images and designs can be emphasized in this way and form a visual and tactile difference between the substrate and the coated areas. With a combination of the film lamination, the tactile and shiny properties of the UV coating are emphasized once again.
Perforation:
This is where the holes for the cardboard labels are made so that you can thread a string, ribbon or cord through them. Possible sizes: 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, 5.5 mm or 8.0 mm
Round off the corners:
Some like their cardboard labels/hangtags square and some also round.
Here you can select which rounding is optimal for your cardboard labels - hang tags
3mm, 5mm, 7mm, or 9mm
Punching:
Such a cardboard label/hangtag die can be customized to different sizes and/or shapes.
Have a punching tool made according to your ideas or simply ask us which shapes we have for you.
Hot foil stamping:
Refine your cardboard labels/hang tags with one of three selectable effect foils! An embossing is applied to the cardboard label/hangtag using pressure and heat.
You can choose from the following color foils: gold foil; golden silver foil; silver laser film;
silver-colored with rainbow color effect (depending on viewing angle and incidence of light) All three color films are high-gloss/reflective.
When packaging your carton labels/hangtags, you can decide how your carton labels/hangtags should be:
With grooves:
Is well suited to fold the cardboard labels / hang tags more easily. 1 line - 4 line
Perforation:
UV coating with a perforation means the following:
The main use of perforations in cardboard labels is to make it easier to tear off, for example, sheets or labels in general along a punch line provided for this purpose. 1 line – 4th
Number:
Here you can decide whether you want your carton labels/hangtags to be numbered.
If yes, you can choose as follows:
Carton Labels number with 1 number - 4 numbers
